Being a girlboss is no small feat — just ask the original girlboss, Sophia Amoruso, who coined the term back in 2014. Since starting her first business venture, Nasty Gal, in 2006, Amoruso's career has gone through highs and lows. Nasty Gal, which started as an eBay store though which Amoruso would sell vintage clothes, skyrocketed into a multi-million dollar company, that then filed for bankruptcy 10 years later. Despite this disheartening setback, the young entrepreneur kept pushing, and started digital media company Girlboss in 2017.
