Outfit of the Day: Aimee Song

Outfit of the Day: Aimee Song(Source: Art by Tanya Leigh Washington)We're halfway through the madness that is New York Fashion Week and while the hot weather has been brutal, style stars are still turning up in fierce outfits that you can translate into a fresh new look for your own wardrobe.

Fashion Week always brings out the creativity in show-goers, especially when it comes to layering. With temperatures pushing 90 degrees outside and the air conditioning blasting inside the tents, a fashion lover has to be prepared for anything. We especially loved Song of Style blogger Aimee Song's take on separates. We spotted her wearing a tonal trio that included a trumpet skirt, a crisp white blouse and a cropped sweater.

Aimee Song, Song of Style(Source: ImaxTree)Song's look caught our eye for a few reasons. First and foremost, her take on proportion is totally unique. Cropped tops have been everywhere this summer but Song gave hers a new twist for fall and made the unexpected choice to pair it with an equally bold trumpet skirt. While the midi length of the blogger's skirt is tough for shorter ladies to pull off, the look also works with a miniskirt in a trumpet or tulip silhouette.

We also love that Song gave her outfit texture with a fuzzy knit and that she added color with floral heels and a snakeskin clutch. We've pulled together all the pieces you need to re-create Song's look, and the best part is every piece is under $100!
