At the Cardboard Citizens Gala, a lucky bidder won the clothes off Kate Winslet's back —literally! Kate attended the event in a strapless white rosette-embellished couture dress by Max Chaoul. She added contrast with a black sash tied at the waist and black Epine pumps by Roger Vivier.
Kate looked fab, as usual. But by the end of the night, the dress she walked in with was no longer hers! No, she didn't get mugged in a back alley. Kate actually put her dress up for auction as one of the lots for the night.
Cardboard Citizens is a professional theater company comprised of homeless and displaced people. In 2008, Kate helped raise over $160,000 to benefit the charity.
