(Source: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Europe) Burlesque icon Dita Von Teese took Paris by storm. The 41-year old vixen walked the runway during the finale of Jean Paul Gaultier's show earlier today as part of Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer.
Not only are Dita and Jean Paul longtime friends, their shared penchant for theatricality, sensuality, and avant garde design (think corsets and Madonna's famed cone bra) make the pair a match made in style heaven. Plus, JPG's new collection and show were actually inspired by burlesque.
Indeed, those who have seen the museum exhibition about the designer's edgy story and glorious legacy as fashion provovateur know of what I speak. And for those who haven't, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk continues through February 23 at the Brooklyn Museum before hitting London this April, and then Paris the following spring.
