OPI's Latest Collab is Off the Walls

OPI's Latest Collab is Off the Walls(Source: Clark+Kensington)Considering how collab happy OPI has been for the past few months, we didn't think there was anything the nail polish brand could do that would surprise us. Clearly we were wrong, because we did not see this one coming: its latest partnership is with Ace Hardware on a line of paint. As in, for your walls, not your nails.

Dubbed OPI Color Palette by Clark+Kensington, the collection features 18 semi-gloss paints from the hardware chain's house-label line that are exact color matches for some of OPI's most popular hues. While certain soft-toned neutrals easily translate to walls—Samoan SandDon't Touch My Tutu!My Pointe ExactlyMy Very First Knockwurst and My Vampire is Buff among them—you might be wondering how bolder shades such as I Eat Mainely Lobster and Can't Find My Czechbook would make sense in a room (other than overpower it).

(Source: Clark+Kensington, OPI)The answer is that in small doses, they actually make lovely accent colors—check out how OPI Red jazzed up a dresser (below). We could even see Gargantuan Green Grape breathing new life into an old chair or tray. When you take into account that both paint and nail polish are just two forms of lacquer, perhaps this partnership makes more sense than we originally thought.

All of the paints are sold by the pint ($5), quart ($13) and gallon ($26), and are available now in-store only at Ace Hardware locations across the country.
