Sips and Tips: The Energy Binge Smoothie and The Berry Skinny Mani
Stick to your 2015 resolutions with this healthy elixir and berry mani to match.
We here at StyleBistro are big proponents of enjoying the little things in life—from a tasty treat to a fresh manicure. So we decided to pair two of our favorite indulgences for a series we're calling Sips and Tips. In these deliciously fun articles, we'll share with you a recipe for one of our favorite drinks of the moment, as well as a manicure inspired by the beverage of choice. Think of it as just another way to incorporate personal style into every aspect of your life.
They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. We're closing in on the first 21 days of January, and we're making sure to stick to our healthy habits with a tasty Energy Binge smoothie from The Blended Drink Handbook ($15) and a "berry skinny" negative space manicure to match. To help create this look, we used BeautyBooked to secure a pro at Townhouse Spa. Get both the recipe for this immune-boosting, low-cal smoothie you can take to go and a matching DIY berry manicure below.
The Sip: The Energy Binge Smoothie
Half a cup ice cubes
One quarter cup blackberries
One quarter cup blueberries
One quarter cup raspberries
One half cup raspberry yogurt
One half cup cranberry juice
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serves one.
The Tip: The Berry Skinny Mani
Essie nail polish in Raspberry ($8)
Apply one coat of base coat before beginning design. Create a half-moon design on the side of your nail with Essie Raspberry, taking the edge of the design along the tip of the nail. Fill in the space with the nail polish. Continue on each nail with the half-moons facing the same direction on each nail. Let dry and finish with top coat. Grab your water bottle and hit the gym!
