Q-tips cotton swabs, $4, at Walgreens
Light pink nail polish such as Essie Adore-a-Ball, $9, at essie.com
Light blue nail polish such as Essie Mint Candy Apple, $9, at essie.com

Steps:
1. Before painting your nails, take two Q-tips and pull the cotton tips loose, so they resemble cotton candy. Then paint your nails the light pink hue.
2. Pour the light pink and baby blue polishes separately onto a plate. Add a few drops of nail polish remover to each color to thin slightly.
3. Dip a frayed Q-tip in the light blue polish and dab along the tips of the nails.
4. Dip the other frayed Q-tip in the light pink polish and dab from the cuticle up to meet the blue tips to create a faded effect.
5. Repeat until you achieve the desired effect. Let dry and seal with a thin layer of top coat.
