2. 'Moonrise Kingdom'
As a Wes Anderson film, I was hard put not to give Moonrise Kingdom the top spot on this list. As a close second, it's a classic. Set on an island off the coast of New England in 1965, this coming-of-age tale features two twelve-year-olds who fall in love and run away to be together. It's alternately sweet, whimsical, and poignant — escapist Anderson at his finest.
