If the only thing preventing you from jumping off a sheer cliff is indecision about what to wear, you’re in luck. Turn to Roberto Cavalli. But be warned, he’ll likely suggest stilettos and a sequined cocktail dress, or at least a very well-tailored and colorful suit.
BASE-jumper-turned-fashion-model Roberta Mancino partnered with photographer Noah Bahnson to film Cavalli’s GoPro viral video titled ‘High Fashion.’
Mancino, along with fellow thrill-seekers Giovanni Silvestri, Andrey Karr, Luca Tondelli and Maurizio Di Palma, jumped from the top of Italy’s Monte Brento to create a free falling fashion show.
According to the video’s description: "Roberta Mancino expresses her passion for fashion and her love of base jumping in this truly extraordinary "High Fashion" GoPro video starring Giovanni Silvestri, Andrey Karr, Luca Tondelli, and Maurizio Di Palma. Watch them jump from Italy's Monte Brento looking fresh and stylish in Roberto Cavalli high end clothing."
If you fear heights, you might not want to watch this video:
Base jumping started as an extreme sport with only a few hundred participants around the world but it’s gained in popularity - especially since the invention of ‘wing suits’ that let jumpers (or ‘pilots’) fly across the sky. Roberto Cavalli is one of the first fashion houses to commission a project like this, but brands such as GoPro and RedBull have featured both BASE jumping and skydiving in previous ads and promotions. For instance, in late 2012 Felix Baumgartner attracted mass-market attention for Red Bull when he dove out of a hot air balloon from the edge of space.
