Now that red carpet season is in full swing, we're fully expecting to see a gaggle of gorgeous, jaw-dropping gowns over the next several weeks that we'll swoon over for years to come. But amongst the bevy of beauties we'll spy flocking to the spotlight wearing all sorts of fantastic frocks, there's likely to be a few that'll buck tradition and try something slightly different. This year, we're almost certain that something different might just be plain old pants.

Granted, ladies rocking trousers to glamorous events isn't a novel notion in the slightest, but their presence is usually far and few in between. Which is why we're calling it now—especially since they say three's a trend.

This week alone we've seen a trio of ladies parading their pins in pants for the paparazzi... Mia Wasikowska looked utterly sophisticated in a pair of gunmetal peg-leg Roland Mouret slacks at the Sydney premiere of "Tracks"; Emma Watson went for boho-glam in a pair of black couture Dior cigarette leggings at the 2014 Golden Globes; and Meagan Good was all about the retro in a pair of cream wide-leg Pamella Roland trousers at the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes After-Party.

To be honest, we wouldn't mind seeing others shy away from skirts and take a sartorial gamble on pants. (Besides, even if it isn't well-received—all press is good press, right?)
