Site Spotlight: Fitbay

Site Spotlight: Fitbay (Source: Fitbay)Fitbay asks its visitors to imagine a store created just for them, and then uses crowdsourced intel to deliver one. Based in Copenhagen, the site aims to curate a selection of clothes for each user based on her specific body type. Accessing these finds starts with taking a short quiz, during which you provide your height and weight, and denote the shape of your figure from choices such as hourglass and pear. Whether you consider your limbs and torso to be short, long or average is taken into account as well.

After naming brands you love for the way they fit—say, Joe's Jeans for its inseam length or Vince T-shirts for the roominess in the shoulders—Fitbay culls pieces from across the internet, creating a personalized e-boutique filled only with items that are likely to fit you.

The results of your quiz, however, are not the only factors the site considers when making apparel suggestions. Preferences of those with your same body type are also factored in, potentially putting great-fitting brands and styles you've yet to discover on your radar, and connecting you with like-minded (and bodied) shoppers.

You can request an invitation to the free, members-only site here, and learn more about Fitbay's fashion-sourcing services in the video below.
