When Joy Bryant isn't busy portraying a Berkeley-based mom on Parenthood, she is designing apparel surprisingly suited for her character. If you didn't peg the actress—who is also known for roles in films such as About Last Night and The Skeleton Key, not to mention portraying 50 Cent's girlfriend in Get Rich or Die Tryin'—as the outdoorsy type, you might be surprised to hear that she and husband Dave Pope have finally launched the debut collection for their activewear line, Basic Terrain.

Bryant, who recently told us that her personal style is very similar to that of Jasmine's on the NBC series, was inspired by Thai fisherman pants purchased during a trip to Cambodia, while Pope brought her vision to life with his sewing skills. Their modest selection boasts one style of bottoms that comes in two lengths—short or long—and four washes: classic cargo, basic black, edgy bleached denim and old-school chambray. Another concise feature is sizing: The bottoms only come in two sizes, XS/S or M/L. While the one-size-fits-all model hardly ever holds true, the parachute-like slacks, which secure with tie closures, ensures room for a wide range of body types and is especially favorable maternity wear.

The pants range from $162 to $198 and can be purchased here.
