Cut Back On One Splurge-Habit
One of the hardest things about saving money is cutting back on the frivolous things that give us joy throughout the week. You don't have to ruthlessly stop your splurging habits, but roll them back a little. Take the train throughout the week and reserve Uber rides for the weekends. Get a cup of coffee at the cafe twice a week rather than five times. Get one drink half price at happy hour rather than three. 

It's just like a diet: going cold turkey will eventually make you binge and drop the new lifestyle. Rolling things back a little still helps you save around $15 a week, allowing you to build your finances without the pain.
