I like to say that I grew up in Neiman Marcus. It may sound snotty, but it's also true. As a native of Neimans HQ—that is to say Dallas, TX—I knew my way around the luxury department store by the ripe young age of six. I would wander about, bored, between the womens and mens fittings rooms: Dad was being fitted for Armani suits; Mom was likely trying on something from Norma Kamali. To this day, I am still offended by the store's snarky moniker, "Needless Markup."
Those were the days of BIG shoulders and wacky Nicole Miller prints. I've grown up since then and, happily, so has Neimans. The luxe retailer announced its latest foray into the technological world last the week: the launch of its premiere blog, NM Daily.
Out of the gate, Neimans hopes to make a splash with exclusive behind-the-scenes content: Look for a video interview with Marchesa founders Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman; a sit-down with Jennifer Lopez and Gucci designer Frida Giannini; and front-row footage from the latest runways.
Don't know about you, but I'll be adding NM Daily to my list of daily clicks. Because you know what they say: You can take the girl out of Dallas, but you can't take the Neimans out of the girl!
