Celebrity Stylist Brad Goreski Reveals His Favorite Red Carpet Trends—So Far!
(Photo courtesy Suave)The Oscars are still a few weeks away, but we're definitely (prematurely) excited for the red carpet. We just can't help it. In fact, we've already started to take bets around the office as to which Dior gown J. Law will wear. To help us get (even more) in the red carpet mindset, we chatted with with celebrity stylist and Suave Professionals Body Care partner, Brad Goreski, on the phone to get his top red carpet style picks, as well as his tips for looking fabulous every day.

StyleBistro: What are some top trends you've noticed on the red carpet this season?
Brad Goreski: Metallics were big at the Grammys. We saw that carry over from the Golden Globes through the SAG Awards. There's still lots of bold color. Red has been a really prominent color this season. Also, there's a lot of skin, which I really like. I like a lot of plunging necklines and a lot of illusion panels. That's something I think is here to stay for a little bit.

SB: So how do you think women can show skin but keep it classy?
BG: I like a little peekaboo moment—either a really low back or a tasteful cutout. Also, I'm still in to the crop top, I must say.

BG: Yeah! I love a crop top with a ballgown skirt. I think it looks really, really chic.

SB: Speaking of red carpets, who do you think has been really nailing it this season?
BG: Taylor Swift is always really solid. She definitely has a look, but I like that every so often she mixes it up. She had that really sexy, leggy moment at the Victoria's Secret fashion show. Then I loved her princess moment in Carolina Herrera at the Golden Globes, and then at the Grammys I thought that was the perfect gown for the perfect girl.

BG: I'm always looking for something that challenges the way people would view my clients. I'm always looking for a new way to still stay in their style personality but also to show a different side of that personality. I like to play dress up with my clients. Sometimes they'll be vampy sexy, and sometimes they'll be edgy lady. I like to play with fashion and have fun with what the designers are giving us. I think it's important to play with beauty, to play with hairstyles, and to always make sure my clients are glowing and look their best.

SB: Agreed. So how can women get that glowing look whether they have a red carpet event or not?
BG: Well, I think with a lot of the trends now—the plunging neckline and a lot metallics—you really want radiant, glowing skin. And now Suave Professionals has their Moroccan Infusion body lotion and dry body spray oil, which is a great way for women at home to get the red carpet glow they see on their favorite celebrities. These products are great for a special event, but I think more importantly, they're good for every day use. The body lotion gives you up to 12 hours of moisture, and the dry body gives you up to six, so you're basically looking at your full work day without having to reapply.

SB: Ohhh nice. So you've told us how to make others radiant, but what makes you feel radiant?
BG: What makes me feel radiant is making my clients feel good and also making people laugh. That's my radiant wish. That people laugh more—and take more fashion risks.
