(CourtesyLifetime) The Client List Season 2, Episode 7 Recap - Does Riley sleep with Dylan for $50,000?

This week's episode of The Client List promised to be one of the biggest turning points in the season—so much so that Lifetime sent out teaser screeners to press earlier this week wrapped in glossy black envelopes and tied in red ribbon. But we didn't sneak a peek, because we wanted to watch it on Sunday night with you! We could hardly wait all week...

Here's the deal: the last two weeks on The Client List have been relatively uneventful—besides Riley breaking up with Evan (even though he's the cutest, most perfect boyfriend ever, hello) and Lynette acting like an all-around blackout drunk on last week's show—but they've built a solid foundation for this week.

Episode 7, "I Ain't Broke But I'm Badly Bent," opens with Lacey and Riley at a local rehab center—which Riley's mom Lynette had the wherewithall to check herself into after passing out on the sofa babysitting. Turns out she was simultaneously taking five painkiller prescriptions and drinking bottles of wine alone.

The lights go out at The Rub: You know we love those sexytime massage scenarios at Riley's happy-ending massage parlor The Rub—and this week, things go from shady to dark, literally, when the lights flicker... and then go out. Luckily, Riley has an electrician who's willing to give her a discount on rewiring the spa in exchange for massages—but it'll still cost her $3,500.

What about that husband in jail? Over at the county prison, Kyle, who's been in prison for 99 percent of this season so far (ho hum, boring) has lost both visiting and phone privileges because he was fighting with another inmate. The prison guard tells Riley that she needs to call (and pay) her lawyer to help get Kyle's visiting privileges back. Her lawyer, who seems like a pretty decent guy really, advises her that Kyle doesn't want to give up his accomplice because his accomplice helped him get clean. He also advises her to start taking care of herself because Kyle might be locked up for a very long time.

And the kids? Katie is noticeably absent from this episode, but Travis has a bit of a star turn. He's caught cheating on his spelling test and he starts to feign sickness to avoid going to school. Riley and Lacey think he might have a learning disability, but when Riley calls to find out how he can be tested, she finds out that the initial test will cost her $800—and thousands more in follow-up sessions.

Meanwhile, in Lacey and Dale-land: Dale is off on a work thing in Santa Fe, and has stuck Lacey with organizing his sister Arlene's baby shower. Arlene is a baby-shower-zilla (is that a thing?), really rich—like, three nannies rich—and says things like, "I know it's going to be hard, but I want you to make me look more beautiful!" Lacey feels a tremendous amount of pressure to get things perfect. Later in the episode, we see the baby shower play out. Wow, Arlene is an asshole. She brags about how rich and powerful her husband is and then puts Dale down and tells Lacey she's lucky she doesn't have any kids (remember how badly Lacey wants kids? Sad face.)

What's going on with Evan and Shelby, his lady-cadet friend: Evan obviously still has feelings for Riley—they have a really stilted and awkward conversation while Lacey is cutting his hair one night—but he and Shelby, a fellow cadet at police academy, definitely have a strong flirtation going on.

THE INDECENT PROPOSAL: Okay, here's the thing that makes this episode a serious turning point in both the second season of The Client List and in Riley's character development-slash-life. One day, Riley comes to work and finds one Dylan Monahan on her table—he's a gorgeous overseas investment banker who's living out of a five-star hotel in Houston while he's in town for a few days before jetting off to Hong Kong for six months. For him, it's like love at first sight and he asks Riley on a date nearly immediately. She turns him down, saying she can't go out with her clients.

"You seem like the perfect girl," he tells her. And, for his follow-up appointment the next day, he comes back with lunch, champagne, and a room full of candles—all romantic-like. "Someone wants to take care of you for once, and not the other way around," he tells her. "It's my hour, it's my time. If I want to spend it sipping champagne and giving you a neck rub—the customer's always right! Technically, I'm not breaking any rules.

"My life is really complicated and my job is kicking my ass right now," he confesses. "I just want to have a nice lunch with a beautiful woman whose company I really enjoy."

Monahan leaves her a $1,000 tip... in $20s. Classy, dude. As he hands her the roll of cash, he makes Riley a proposal—"You are the most sensual, savvy woman I've ever met," he says. "Being with you would be a dream come true. I'll pay you $50,000 to sleep with you just one time."

Riley is really torn over this. On one hand, she really needs the money—but on the other hand, sleeping with Dylan for cash would make her a prostitute (the P-word is also noticeably never mentioned in this episode). She also reveals to Georgia that she's only ever slept with one man—her husband Kyle.

"I was a virgin until Kyle and I haven't slept with anyone else," she says. "I was tempted—but what I do at The Rub is fantasy. This is real, and I'm just not that kind of girl."

Georgia confesses that once upon a time, she, herself, gave in and slept with a customer for a large sum of money. But while landing that windfall did help her close escrow on the spa property, "I also bought a lifelong regret," she says. "No girl should have to do anything that makes her feel uncomfortable."

Riley's money troubles are weighing heavy on her mind. And it doesn't help that Dylan is really aggressive. He shows up at The Rub one day with a dozen roses—and his hotel room key. She turns him down, but he leaves his key with her anyway, just in case.

'The Client List' Season 2, Episode 7 Recap - 'I Ain't Broke But I'm Badly Bent'

SPOILER ALERT—Does Riley sleep with Dylan for $50,000? After the commercial break, we see Riley wearing a crazy-looking black and purple wig, wearing sparkling platform peep-toe stilettoes, and a black trench coat. She's riding up in a wood-paneled hotel elevator. She spends some time agonizing over her decision in the hotel hallway, but eventually, she lets herself into Dylan's suite.

"I didn't think you'd show up," he says. "You look stunning."

Riley takes off her trench coat, revealing her garters-and-black-lace-teddy outfit. We're so distracted by her weird wig. Then she gives him some line about how he can't kiss her because she watched Pretty Woman and Julia Roberts didn't let Richard Gere kiss her in that movie either.

"I don't want all this, I want the real you," Dylan tells her. "You're the first woman I've been with in over a year." His wife left him: "14 months, 2 weeks, and 8 days ago." (I don't really understand this delineation—why is it not 14 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day ago? Sorry, I digress.)

"All I know is everything I ever did, I did for her and my kids," he tells Riley. "I begged her to stay, to not break up our family, but she wouldn't change her mind. You're the first person I've talked to about this. It's not the sex. It's, Riley, there's something about you, something special, something that can fix what she broke. I feel like you understand me. I want to understang you too, the real you. Can we just forget about everything else and just enjoy each other?"

This seems to be the humanizing moment Riley needs, because next thing we know, she's emerged from the bathroom, crazy wig gone, and wearing his white shirt. She tells him she's been "deadly insecure" since her husband left her a year ago. "I lie to everyone about everything, and I hate it," she says. "And here I am, and I'm going to sleep with you for $50,000. I'm a mess. Look at us, two beautiful messes."

Then she takes off the shirt and they have sex.

The next thing we see is Riley weeping in the hotel shower, scrubbing her skin. Her phone rings—it's Lacey calling from the vile baby shower, it goes to voicemail; Kyle gets his phone privileges back and he calls her, and it goes to voicemail.

When she gets out of the bathroom, Dylan is nowhere to be found, but there's a pile of cash on the bed. She grabs it, stuffs it in her bag, and leaves.
