2017 And On: The Women's March Movement
The fight for women's equality, reproductive rights, and more continued in the face of the Trump administration and its hateful rhetoric. On January 21, 2017, an estimated 673 — that's right, I said over 600 — women's marches were held all around the globe, from San Francisco to New York City, Rome to Tel Aviv, to Paris and beyond. That's 92 countries, and in all 50 states, where over 5 million people gathered in solidarity and protestation. It was also the largest single day protest in all of American history. Major feminist win — not to mention, win for all humankind, really? We think yes.
