One of the prevailing themes in country music is heartache, and for good reason. There is plenty of drama in country music, whether that means country stars break up with their spouses, get into violent bar fights, get kicked out of famous music venues, or snub each other's music. The country music industry has plenty of feuds and backstabbing, and it makes for great tabloid gossip and popcorn eating. Some of country music's biggest scandals are so wild that not even tabloids could make this stuff up.

For example, in 2007 Billy Joe Shaver fancied himself a Western gun slinger and shot a man during a bar fight. And in 2008, Shania Twain husband-swapped with her former best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. She married Thiebaud's husband after Twain discovered Thiebaud slept with her own husband of 15 years.
