Festivals and concerts had to be put on pause this summer because of the pandemic, but some country stars pushed forward and held their regularly scheduled concerts anyway. This has led to some criticism, since many fans weren't socially distancing or wearing masks.

Kelsea Ballerini was one such critic to publicly call out Chase Rice for holding a concert in Tennessee during the pandemic. "Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now," Ballerini said in a tweet. "We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait." Rice never responded.
