Guess Who Julie Bowen Shares Her 'Modern Family' Working Wardrobe With
See why her silk shirt fits so well into a career woman's closet—plus where to stock up.
We've all woken up to those dreadful weekday mornings with nothing to wear. Fortunately, there's one easy blouse that slips into the wardrobes of countless career women on television. Last week on Modern Family, working mom Claire Dunphy (played by Julie Bowen) offered up some style tips for dressing appropriately at the office, and we were surprised to find that a number of small-screen stars already subscribe to her philosophy—not to mention share her simple essentials.
Rule #1: When you find a piece that works, buy it in bulk.
Rizzoli & Isles star Sasha Alexander, who shares Bowen's autumn complexion, is an avid disciple of this fashion commandment. Not only has her character been seen a number of times in the burgundy basic, she also owns the same top in another complementary color: marigold.
Rule #2: Go bold, but stay true to your coloring.
Both Amanda Setton and Melissa Joan Hart prefer the blouse in neon pink, which is ideal for winter colorings. Back in 2013, Hart's self-titled character wore the happy hue on Melissa & Joey, while Setton's character Lauren trailed behind, brightening up her workwear on The Crazy Ones last April.
Rule #3: Sometimes basic is best.
While the actresses' assorted jewel tones are no longer available, we found their shared shirt in two timeless options: white and black. Stock up on the small screen-approved staple here.
To see more of Bowen's on-point professional attire, tune in to Modern Family tonight at 9pm PST on ABC.
