Channel Blake Lively's Timeless Look in 'The Age of Adaline'
We rounded up vintage-inspired wardrobe items that will carry you through the years in style.
If you had all the time in the world, what would you do? Where would you go? And most importantly, what would you wear? Blake Lively gives "old soul" a new meaning in her latest film, The Age of Adaline, which (finally!) hits theaters today. After a mysterious accident, her character Adaline stops aging—rendering us even more jealous of the blonde beauty (spoiler alert: she learns that being "perfect" really means getting to grow old, gray hairs and all, with the person you love). Not only does she maintain her youthful beauty, she also preserves a classic-glam wardrobe that carries her through the decades in style.
Take, for instance, her stunning velvet gown that she wears on New Year's Eve—both in the '40s and present day, which is when she meets her love interest Ellis (played by Michiel Huisman). In addition to her formal attire, Adaline has a number of vintage fashion items, such as a vanity case, ladylike lingerie and Deco accessories, that we were eager to add to our own wardrobes. We rounded up a number of period-inspired items, just like the ones that played a role in her romantic story, to last you years to come:
