If anyone knows a thing or two about living the California dream, it's Lisa Rinna. Known for her roles on classic soap operas, including Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place, the actress has been in the business for more than two decades. She is also happily married to Mad Men's Harry Hamlin and spends most of her time with their two daughters. Whether or not she's actually joining real-life soap opera The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills remains to be seen, but after chatting with the star, we're hoping the rumors are true—if only to bring her breezy nature and fashion sense to the rest of the gang come fall. Until then, we can enjoy her latest collection for QVC, Belle Gray by Lisa Rinna, which channels her easy-going attitude and lifestyle.

"[My style] is more on the casual side—it's casual-chic, I'm told by my teenagers."

What was the inspiration for the latest collection? “I had my own store for ten years, and I got to buy all different kinds of things. Living in California, I realized that women like to look good, they like to feel comfortable, and I pretty much bought what I liked. Cozy, comfy, California-chic is the best way to describe it. We do everything from cute jeans to maxi dresses, and we do some faux-leather and faux-fur vests. I’m very proud of the line. We use really nice, soft materials, and [the line] is functional and all meshed together really well.”

Who is your target customer? “It crosses all women. I think everybody wants to look good  and wants [their wardrobes] to be easy. I call it ‘five seconds to fabulous’ because you just don’t want to have to think about it too much. We make all sizes [XXS to XXXL], which is what I love about working with QVC; I can dress a lot of different size women, and what’s great is the clothes look good on any size, and that’s been a wonderful thing to do."

How would you describe your personal style? "It’s a little bit casual, a little bit chic, a little bit comfortable and very workout, since I live in Los Angeles. It’s a little boyish; I like my boyfriend jeans and T-shirts. It's more on the casual side—it's casual-chic, I'm told by my teenagers."

How does your own wardrobe differ from that of the TV characters you've portrayed? “I would say my wardrobe is very different than the characters’ that I have played, though I have gone through different stages of my life where I have been, say in my 20s and 30s, more like my characters than I certainly am now. My style has evolved over the 25 years I’ve been in the business, but I can’t say that I ever really dressed like someone like [Melrose Place’s] Taylor McBride, who was all about using her body and sexuality to get whatever she could, whenever she could.”

What is the one fashion or beauty item you can’t live without? “The one thing I can’t live without is a James Perse V-Neck T-Shirt [$50]. It's true; white, black, navy and gray are my favorite colors.”
