Jane Austen And Anne Sharp
Anne Sharp was one of Jane Austen's closest companions, where she would not only offer up valuable critiques for Austen's stories, but act as one of the author's trusted confidantes. But not many people know that because the family tried to keep that fact secret. Sharp, you see, was the family governess to Austen's niece, and it wouldn't do to have the family mixing with the help.

But they were such good friends that Sharp was the last person Austen wrote to on her death bed, sharing her "tender" feelings with her and proclaiming herself forever “attached.”
