27. Katy Perry In Tom Ford, 2017
Katy Perry dominated the red carpet in 2017 with a metallic and feathered Tom Ford creation. The singer had just released her single "Chained to the Rhythm," and she was feeling bold and playful.

Perry was styled by Jamie Mizrahi, and he described the look as "powerful and bold." When the singer bumped into Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, she joked that she looked "like a martini."

While it was an eye-catching dress, it was decidedly understated for the artist, who Vogueannounced was experiencing a make-under. Something which Mizrahi confirmed. "Katy built an entire brand and persona around her unique aesthetic — something I admire,” Mizrahi told the publication. “[But] it’s always important to evolve and expand your style to match where you are in your life.”

They also wanted to create a new look to coincide with her new single and upcoming album. “It was important to portray this new image, especially at Katy's first red carpet upon releasing her new single," Mizrahi exclusively told Billboard. "There was less thinking about what had been done in the past and more thinking about the present and future. We wanted something that felt different and elevated."

They even changed her hair, which was newly blonde. “It’s the last color in all the Pantone books I haven’t done,” she joked with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. “My last resort.”
