34. Lady Gaga In Brandon Maxwell, 2015
Lady Gaga wore a "toned down" look at the 2015 Grammys, in that she didn't wear a full-on costume. Instead she wore a Brandon Maxwell design, which had a jazzy undertone to it. Which made sense, since she was performing with Tony Bennett that night, and both were nominated for their collaborative album, Cheek to Cheek.

“When you have an album, there’s a specific look that goes with it,” Maxwell told WWD. “This album being jazz, we really have been going for more refined, clean, timeless looks.”

Maxwell began his career as a stylist, and was Gaga's personal dresser for five years before making the switch to designer. "I'm so excited to be fulfilling a lifelong dream of design, making clothes inspired by all of the powerful women in my life — from the classic to the avant-garde," Maxwell said in a statement.

The dress was dangerously low cut, and required a great deal of double stick tape. But when you have something on so slinky, you can't really control it — and Gaga suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet when her dress slipped in the front for a second.

Gaga accented the look with 45-carat emerald earrings and a door knocker pendant necklace with a diamond chain from Lorraine Schwartz.
