24. Cardi B In Ashi Studio, 2018
Cardi B continued to uphold her fashion icon status at the 2018 Grammys by donning a dress from Saudi Arabian couturier Mohammad Ashi, of Ashi Studio. He apprenticed with Elie Saab for several years before opening his own label in 2007.

Cardi wore the designer twice in a row that year, making him her official pick for the Grammys circuit. Hours prior to the event, she wore a white tuxedo dress from the designer's 2018 Spring collection to the legendary Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala in New York City.

While that was a sleek and sophisticated gown, Cardi decided to pump up the drama for the actual red carpet event. The artist wore a piece from Ashi Studio's Fall 2017 Couture show, which he then customized for her.

“I wanted a look that fits her silhouette yet that also created a fashion statement, something that would truly be a memorable fashion moment, and I am more than happy to contribute to that,” Ashi told Vogue Arabia exclusively. The gown consisted of butterfly wing sleeves, a tiered lace train, and an overall fairy-like aesthetic. She topped off the look with angel wing cuff earrings, which matched her dress's couture wings.

The Beirut-based designer was excited to dress Cardi because he appreciated how open she was — in both her music and her fashion choices. “My signature is a combination of soft colors and stiff textures. I always aim to create a modern and architectural silhouette by experimenting with new volumes and body-hugging shapes,” Ashi told CR. “Cardi has such a raw and true character that she projects onto her music. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and be herself, and that’s what make people relate to her."
