The Most Daring Dresses Ever Worn At The Grammy Awards

26. Nicki Minaj In Tom Ford, 2015
Nicki Minaj adopted Tom Ford's sophisticated sex appeal for the 2015 Grammys by wearing a plunging black dress by the designer. This was a departure from her usual theatrical red carpet aesthetic, making people wonder if she was beginning to head in a more designer-oriented trajectory.

The halter gown rippled down into a beaded skirt that skimmed to the floor in a sweep of fringe. While the dress hit pretty high on the salacious scale, the Los Angeles Times pointed out that this was one of Minaj's more subdued looks — at least when it came to the costume department. "This from a woman who has worn face masks and metal bondage gear in the past," the publication wrote.

Maybe she was just craving a more glamorous aesthetic, especially since she was nominated for three awards that evening, including Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance. That same year, Tom Ford also designed one of her Pinkprint Tour outfits. He made Minaj a custom black gown that she wore while performing a set in Dallas. It consisted of a black leather bandeau top and a sweeping Grecian-style skirt.

But Minaj wasn't the only artist to wear Tom Ford on the red carpet that night. Beyonce was also dressed by the designer, and wore a semi-sheer black lace dress that sported a plunging neckline and long train. And right behind her was Jennifer Hudson in a strapless mini Tom Ford number, but for the sake of variety, her dress was white.
