Beyonce in Givenchy, 2012
For the 2012 gala, Beyonce donned a statement gown that totally screamed "pop diva." The Givenchy number featured sparkling embellishments on sheer black lace and an ombre feathered fishtail hem.
Bey's 2012 Met Gala appearance had an interesting background story. According to her stylist Ty Hunter, the star wasn't supposed to attend but decided to go at the last minute. Ty made a quick call to Givenchy (who had created a gown for Beyonce for another event, which was never used) and another call to Lorraine Schwartz and, voila, a complete Met Ball look in less than 24 hours!
