15. Awkwafina At The 2020 Critics' Choice Awards
Awkwafina is having quite the awards season: she became the first Asian-American woman to win best actress in a musical or comedy at the Golden Globes when she won the accolade for her role in The Farewell, and there is buzz that the role will lead to an Oscar nomination as well. Awkwafina decided to play up that honor by arriving to the Critics Choice Awards in a bright, happy marigold dress that burst with color.

The Elie Saab gown featured caped sleeves, a keyhole detail neckline, and a 1930s-inspired cinched waist. Then, rather than toning down the bold yellow hue of the dress, her glam team decided to play it up by pairing it with a chartreuse-green clutch, colorful floral earrings, and bright red lips.

"I was truly inspired by the powerful golden yellow tones in Awkwafina’s dress," makeup artist Kirin Bhatty told Vogue. "I think there is something so powerful and uplifting about yellow that it calls for statement makeup that’s equally bold." She paired the red lips with shimmering gold lids. Awkwafina was a burst of color on the red carpet that night, and made it to the top of every Best Dressed List that evening.
