It’s Addictive – In A Good Way
Although we often think of addiction as being a bad thing, when it comes to gratitude, that addiction is a good thing. A 2009 National Institutes of Health study found that when we feel gratitude, it affects our hypothalamus and it feels really good – like a natural high. While gratitude may not produce the same “high” feeling as oxytocin, aka the love hormone, it’s not far off. Because of this, people are more likely to express gratitude regularly because it’s an addiction for them.
