Not only is Eyes Wide Shut categorized as an erotic thriller, but multiple scenes needed to be cut from it just so it could get an R rating in the States. Set in New York City around Christmas, the movie takes place over two days in which Bill Harford (Tom Cruise) learns of a secret society where he witnesses an orgy, among other things, while having marital issues with his wife — played by real-life wife at the time, Nicole Kidman. Although the plot is sort of confusing and a lot of it feels like a dream, Eyes Wide Shut is deeply sexual from beginning to end, with even the final word of the movie... which I won't give away for people who haven't seen it.
