12. Discuss what's suitable for sharing
As kids test boundaries and form identities, they're more likely to overshare online. Spend time talking to your kids about how what they share may continue to follow them around for years to come. Have them show you what other kids are sharing and then discuss together how it looks to others. Teenage girls won't want to hear how their "sexy" pictures are also attractive to some older men.

Being honest, open, and proactive will help kids make better decisions about what they put on the Internet. It may also help to remind them that you're watching what they share, too.
