People often ask me why I became a pescetarian. I have to admit, it embarrassingly began with an Urban Outfitters T-shirt I stumbled across in college—one with a pig holding flowers next to text that read: "Please don't eat me, I love you." I've always had a soft spot for pigs, so I bought it and gave up my beloved pepperoni the same day. Chicken and beef followed years later after my awareness of the environmental impact and moral questions grew. But while I tinker with the idea of having a cheeseburger again some day, I won't go back on my piggy promise. Here's why.
1. Pigs Are Crazy Smart
2. And Emotional
The shirt was right, they do love you. And they get attached very easily.
3. They Make Great Pets
Not only are they affectionate, they're very clean and easily trained.
4. How They're Killed Is Terrifying
I recommend everyone watch Food, Inc. for this very reason.
