6. Taking Hot Showers
Taking hot showers is another common beauty mistake, as hot water strips the skin of it’s natural oils, leading to dryness, itchiness and irritation.

“Hot showers and baths can worsen sensitive skin symptoms like eczema and psoriasis,” explains Schlessinger. “If hot showers are taken on a regular basis, you might start to notice dry patches of skin that feel scaly or start to crack.”

To make better showering habits, Schlessinger suggests taking lukewarm showers instead, as neutral temperatures won’t scorch and damage the skin.

“Always take a lukewarm shower and keep it short,” he says. “If you take a bath, set a timer before you get in, so you don’t lose track of time.”
