Taking a cue from designers such as Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney (both of whom turned out piece-y, patched-up denim this season), a bevvy of Hollywood chicsters, street style stars and big-name bloggers have hit the street in stitched-on styles. The silhouettes vary, as do the washes. But one thing's clear: these baby blues are the epitome of downtown cool.

Take Sarah Jessica Parker, below, in a pair of patchwork stovepipes. The mosaic of blue pieces adds a dose of texture and visual interest to her otherwise standard skinnies.
