Beaches are a good time to go au naturale: ditch clothes, let your hair flow freely and abandon makeup. Even so, celebrities have found a way to add embellishment even when they're nearly naked. Enter the body chain—jewelry that wraps around your neck and waist for subtle pizzazz on otherwise simple looks.

These accessories draw attention to your middle, which can either give a slimming effect or highlight those already toned abs you've been working on all summer. Even when worn off the beach, however, they're sexy and understated, playing peek-a-boo under midriff-bearing outfits.

Rihanna dressed up a simple blue bikini with a thin chain, layered beneath a nameplate necklace.

Candice Swanepoel matched a gold suit with even more gold. Her chain sits at the hips, which works for low-rise bikini bottoms.
