Spring Shirtdresses Just Got a Demure Update
Rock the belted, midi-length silhouette like one of these fashion It girls.
Call it body-con backlash: spring's belted, midi-length shirtdress feel like a prim throwback to a different era. A hit on spring runways such as Alexander Wang and Altuzarra, the demure silhouette nonetheless feels current and cool on some of our favorite fashionistas.
Take Olivia Wilde, for instance, in Michael Kors (below). The look is quite literally buttoned-up—and yet styled with piecey, side-swept hair and a smattering of minimalist jewelry, it's undoubtedly fierce. Normcore? Grandma chic? Whatever it is, we like it.
Daisy Lowe also stepped out in a springy shirtdress, this one straight from Altuzarra's Spring 2015 show. We love how she vamped up the sweet gingham look by letting her lacy underpinning peek out.
Meanwhile, fellow It girl Harley Viera-Newton went for eye-catching in this printed white style.
