4. Not Knowing What You're Eating
One of the benefits of making your food from scratch is knowing exactly what ingredients you're eating. But let's get real — not everyone has the time, or skill, to make everything from scratch. 

We often associate food labels with checking for calories or fat percentages, but really you should be checking the ingredients. Unfortunately, we consume a lot of artificial ingredients that are not good for us, so know what you're eating before chowing down.
