Although there's a lot going on in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, what really stands out is the volatile relationship between Martha and George, played by Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, respectively. After inviting a younger couple over for cocktails, Martha and George get rip-roaring drunk and you realize, OMG, Martha is awful! (But so is George, to be honest.) And what makes her extra awful is how she's playing opposite a younger, naive, innocent actress, who's just a houseguest for the evening and wants to leave.
