The annual Met Gala is arguably fashion's biggest night, and Monday evening did not even slightly disappoint. From Beyonce to Kristen Stewart, the red carpet was overflowing with spine-tingling dramatic looks. Our favorite just happened to be Carey Mulligan's enchanting '50s mermaid dress by Miuccia Prada.
Also in NYC, Diane Kruger got playful with prints at the DVF launch wearing the designer's dotted silk shift dress with a statement striped clutch. Eva Mendes countered the knee-length look with a saturated Jonathan Saunders design for her appearance on the Today show. Artsy cat eyes were the only accessory she needed to complete the retro vibe.
Meanwhile, it was the showdown of the white gowns between Kate Middleton's minimal Roland Mouret dress and Rihanna's slinky draped Adam Selman number. They were both captivating in very different ways, but in our book, the Duchess takes the figurative crown.
