She may be a full blown MWLF (mother we'd like to friend) nowadays, but the multitalented, multilingual Milla Jovovich will always be Lilli from Return to the Blue Lagoon in our hearts. Still, her modern style is light years away from the bandeau-centric survival sartorial that kickstarted her acting career in the aforementioned '90s island flick.

These days Milla's look is a compelling mix of off-duty model, rock chanteuse and hipster mom, recently on display when Jovovich hightailed it from JFK airport to 5th Avenue with daughter Ever Gabo Anderson in tow.

Why it Works: Milla Jovovich A closer look at those fringed (yes, fringed!) boots. (Pacific Coast News)
The Shirt: An homage to the late Adam "MCA" Yauch, Jovovich's vintage Beastie Boys T-shirt not only pulls at our heartstrings, but nails that effortless "fresh from the shoot" thing every Serbian-Russian-American model/actress/singer seems to implicitly know how to do.

The Jeans: Replete with rock n' roll detail, Jovovich's skinny jeans have a retro Aerosmith feel. The side zips, angled seams and dark patchy wash make us want to "walk this way" (and look that way doing it).

The Boots: These thickly fringed platform boots appear to be the lovechild that resulted from a drunken entanglement between Minnetonka moccassins and mod suede boots. Fierce indeed.
